I'm 18 , i did the surgery yesterday i just felt disturbed and nervous during the surgery , but there was no pain after the surgery i had a headache , but no pain the surgeon finished the whole surgery in just 8 minutes it doesn't cost a lot here in Egypt , just a 1000$

The differentiation between a direct and an indirect inguinal hernia are defined by their relationship to the inferior epigastric vessels. Well basically a direct occur medial to the inferior epigastric vessels when abdominal contents herniate? through the external inguinal ring. While an indirect occur when abdominal contents protrude through the deep inguinal ring, lateral to the inferior epigastric vessels. Hope that answers your question. Btw nice video. Cheers.

my ventral hernia surgery is healing up really fast. and i dont have any pain, or problems so far, it has been almost a month now. i didnt have much brusing. had my 37staples taken out a week ago. i have lower blood pressure and lost weight. which is good. there are so many people who are so negitive after their surgery , complains about it. but i have no complaints. i even have less back pain, because now i can sit up straighter. if hernia surgery is so bad, then docs wont be doing them...

I've had hernia surgery when i was maybe 7.... It's not bad. and mine was the size of a golf ball.. so not bad, you just feel slight pain on whatever side you get it on, but they give you medicine.

i just had ventral hernia repair with mesh, and i have a 12" + cut on my abdomen and 35/37 staples. its nice and shinny though. ive had alot of pressure because of the cut and and it isnt that easy to get up and walk as in this video. so in about 6 weeks hopefully ill be better and get in shape. and be able to get off my bed.lol lol. mine hernia was the size of a (1)grapefruit, and (2)lemon.ive read a lot of negitive, so i like seening positive outlooks.

update: Its been 3 weeks now since my surgery to repair my ACL. Unfortunatley i still have my have my brace on for another 2 weeks. So that means i will have to wear this brace for a total of 5 weeks. It blows, but thankfully my stitches came out and i can shower and take baths without having to wrap it in garbage bags. I only use one crutch now. And pretty soon i wont need any crutches, so i'm very excited.

I recently had ACL reconstructive surgery. the next day the doctor came in to check on me and noticed i was in no pain, and yes this is after the drugs wore off and i was totaly coherrent. its been a week now since i had the surgery and already can walk without much limp without the crutches. also i have stopped taking the prescribed perkiset. i found it to make me sick and tired, which i found to be more of a problem than a solution. but the reason im commenting is so people getting the surgery

@acergino I had this surgery 6 weeks ago and I´m into a program on how to get the knee back to where it was as fast as possible. And even though they say I can start light jogging after three months, the say I have to wait at least 9 months before I can play football or do downhill skiing. And that is with rehab! So if I were you, I would talk to a PT on how to train the knee and what he thinks about the stregth in it.

yes a screw stays in your knee but it's nothing you don't even feel it, and if you feel like crap I just had my 3rd knee ligament operation almost 5 weeks ago. You go in for like 45mins, you come out you don't feel a thing, after you wake up they bandage you up to go, then two weeks later you get your stitches taken off which shouldn't really hurt. The MOST important thing if you want a fast and succesful recovery is your physiotherapy. Don't worry about it, think of ppl with big surgeries

I had ACL surgery and meniscus surgery 2 years ago. I tore my acl and meniscus going up for a rebound while practicing with my high school basketball team. All I have to say is good luck to anyone struggling with physical therapy or the pains of the first few days after surgery. My only recommendation is to take your physical therapy 100% SERIOUSLY if you want to have a speedy recovery back to athletic performance or just normal day to day life. Also, get used to icing your knee all the time.

You're at a much bigger risk for anaesthetic related complications, bigger risk for a DVT (blood clot), bigger risk for post-operative pneumonia.....I could go on. I had this done 2 years ago. I dealt with large and infected tonsils for years. I used to call in sick to work at least 4-5 times a month with a horrible sore throat and a high fever. It's been 2 years and I have not been sick with a cold or a sore throat (knock on wood). I recommend having this done if you suffer with swollen and infected tonsils. It definitely changes your life for the better and you have so much more energy from not dealing with infection. I was 31 when I had this done.

hehehehe i remember when i got em done last on august 18 of last year. i remember breathing in the anestesia 3 times an i just fell asleep. next thing i know, i feel inflamation on my throat(bearly any pain) and a popsicle right in my face. hahahahahaha pretty fun actually. who ever is scared of this being done on you, dont be. it lasts like 40 minutes and theres barely any pain. u also get to eat crap loads of ice cream too.

@ntllgnt True! I find OR techs either love or hate cataract surgery. It's not for everyone. Some of the ortho people aren't used to handling such small, delicate instruments. I can usually tell right away which new techs (being trained to do cataract surgery) will end up liking it and staying with it.

@mikeandgore No, there is rarely any discomfort at all, believe it or not. Ophthalmologists can easily and quickly induce exquisite topical/local anesthesia for the eye, thank goodness. A big difference compared to how the ancient Egyptians used to "couch" a cataract (push it to the back and bottom of the eye) by sticking a needle into the eye without anesthesia! Ouch! (In fact, the word "cataract" is an Egyptian-derived word meaning waterfall!)

2 anyone who doesn't like the fact that there r no timers in most of the ops...there may not be a timer but u'd still have 2 be quick cuz in most of the ops u have 2 complete it in a certain amount of time in order 2 get the highest ranking. if u can complete an op in like 2 mins and u take like 3 or 4 mins 2 complete it, u'll be getting an A instead of S. mostly it doesn't tell u when 2 complete it but there are some which does. i think in the first surgery op u have 2 complete it in 90 secs.
